Erasmus+ Project Word to Action: Media Literacy for Change Officially Launched in Granada, Spain
The Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership Word to Action: Media Literacy for Change (Project No. 2025-1-RO01-KA220-YOU-000362895) officially commenced with its Kick-off Transnational Project Meeting (TPM1), held on 28–29 January 2026 in Granada, Spain.
Hosted by EUducate, the meeting brought together representatives of all project partners: Asociația Be You (Romania – Project Coordinator), EUducate (Spain), MoMenTor (Bulgaria) and ZPTM Brežice (Slovenia). The two-day meeting marked the beginning of a two-year European cooperation dedicated to strengthening media literacy, critical thinking and civic participation among young people.
During the meeting, the partnership established the project’s governance framework, confirmed the implementation timeline, agreed on communication and quality assurance procedures, and discussed the methodology that will guide the development of the project’s educational resources and activities.
Word to Action addresses the growing challenges posed by misinformation, digital manipulation and the rapid spread of online content. The project aims to empower young people and youth workers with the knowledge, skills and tools needed to critically evaluate information, create responsible digital content and actively participate in democratic life.
Over the next two years, the partnership will collaboratively develop three flagship educational resources:
- Gamification Guide for Civic Activism, providing innovative game-based learning approaches to encourage civic participation and active citizenship;
- Training Methodology for Youth Workers, offering practical non-formal education tools to strengthen media literacy competences;
- Media Rebels – Digital Club for Creative Activism, a youth-led initiative supporting the creation of original digital content promoting democracy, sustainability, inclusion and youth participation.
Beyond producing educational materials, the project seeks to build a sustainable European community of organisations and youth workers committed to promoting ethical communication, critical thinking and responsible digital engagement.
The Kick-off Meeting laid the foundations for a strong international partnership based on collaboration, innovation and shared responsibility. It also reaffirmed the partners’ commitment to delivering high-quality educational resources with a lasting impact on youth work and media education across Europe.
The project Word to Action: Media Literacy for Change is co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Programme and will be implemented from December 2025 to December 2027.
